Why a videographer?

As the wedding day fast approaches, hiring a videographer sometimes seems to be the last one on the list. You are quickly approaching your budget, why not use it on more flowers? After all, everyone has a video camera these days. Why not have Uncle Bob do it for free? At least you are going to have professional photos taken, thats good enough right?

Let's take a minute and think this through. Starting with good ol' Uncle Bob. How long has Bob been a professional videographer? Oh, thats right...he's not a professional, but you are willing to put the most important day of your life in his hands? Now I may be wrong, but if I want the best haircut in the world, I will go to a professional. Not Bob just because he has a pair of scissors. Get my drift? Good.

Besides, holding a camera is but one small piece of the puzzle to a professional videographer. There is wireless audio....you do want to be able to hear your wedding vows right? What about style? Do you want your wedding video to be unique and stylistic? Oh, and we can't forget editing. This is what brings your wedding to life! For some, professional editing is an art that takes many years to master. Hmm, guessing you didn't think of that one did you. Odds are really stacking up against Uncle Bob now aren't they?

What about the photographer! You are going to have professional photos taken. Isn't a professional photo album good enough? Well, I guess that really depends on you. How important is video media to you today? Do you watch t.v. or movies?

Done right, video media can invoke powerful emotions and memories that a still image could never do. Done right, video media can give you goose bumps just by seeing an amazing sequence put to "just the right" music.

Don't get me wrong, a professional photographer is very important and you should always have one. You should never have to choose one over the other as they are both completely different mediums that should always compliment each other.

So why do you need a professional videographer?

Imagine how valuable that wedding video will be for many future generations to enjoy. For example, do you remember looking over your grandparents old black and white photos, and just wishing they had a dvd you could watch.....to see and hear how things really were back then?

You can discard a video you don't like but you can't create a video that was never filmed.
